Bhole Shankar
the biggest Bhojpuri Film
In a series of articles being published at Anjoria.com, Pankaj Shukla - Director of the biggest Bhojpuri Film Bhole Shankar- is dicussing some behind the scene matters related with the film.
The series is going to become a hot topic soon as some barbs are expected against well known names of Bhojpuri Cinema.
In the first episode of his serial Pankaj Shukla mentions the background of his joining film industry and leaving a good and established career in journalism. All of a sudden he was called to the HR department of Z news, the very next day after his piligrimage to Vrindavan, and was informed of certain decisions already taken. He decided to leave the job on that very day, though he resigned after some days.
Pankaj then decided to shift to Mumbai and try his hands in Film production. He already had a film in his mind when his friend Harish Sharma introduced him to Gulshan Bhatia, a BJP corporate of Delhi. Bhatias son Gaurav has a passion for film making and he agreed soon to produce Bhole Shankar, though he had some reservations about the capacity of Shukla to cobble up the team of stars and others for the film.
Manoj Tiwari was the first to be signed. He came, signed on the agreement, took the signing amount and went away to return whenever needed. But Mithun Da was another matter. As they were late for a scheduled meeting Mithun denied them a meeting and asked to come to the airport next morning. Bhatia and Pankaj went there. Mithun met them and agreed to the film. Mithun then asked them to meet Vijay who looks after his film matters. Vijay Upadhyay is an old and trusted lieutinent of Mithun.
Thus the ground work was ready for Bhole Shankar, the biggest film in Bhojpuri and also the first Bhojpuri film starring Mithun Chakravorty.
