The word 'Daughter' has the power to stir within us a gush of indescribable innocence, love and belonging. It brings in a whole world of happiness and a new meaning to the word 'home'. Those who do not have a daughter desperately yearn for one and constantly seek her love in others' daughters.

This film is a story of one such daughter –Rucha –who as an orphan has come to accept the orphanage as her 'home'. There comes a time of realization about what is a home? What are relationships? How important are they in society? Can Rucha step out of the confines of the orphanage and blossom in someone's home...as a daughter?

Sudarshan Shastri and his family –wife Kalyani, elder son Mohit, daughter- in -law Bhumika, younger son Rohit and his friend Mahak help Rucha in realizing what exactly a home is. Sudarshan Shastri and his wife Kalyani bring home Rucha, a 15 year old girl from an orphanage to make her a part of the family. But Sudarshan Shastri’s son and his daughter in law do not have a liking towards Rucha… The girl stays in the house for only 20 days and as she is disliked in the house, she leaves with disappointment. The family realizes the worth of the girl only after she leaves.

The story talks about what thoughts run in an adopted child’s mind? How do the members of the family behave with such child? It is really a thought-provoking film as when a child of 2 or 3 years is getting adopted the child is not aware of his past and grows in the family as a part of the family itself. This film hopes to awaken society and sensitize every citizen about such issues surrounding adoption – a huge responsibility yet so easily accomplished.

The challenging role of Rucha is played by a beautiful bubbly 12th standard science student .This talented 17 year old collegian seems to possess the sincerity and resolve to combine her studies with a demanding perforce to win the hearts of a tough audience .With your blessings Rucha could well be on her way to tasting success and the film industry discovering a fresh new talent.
